Our Work
Heritage cycling experiences that celebrate Ireland's railway past
Athlone Heritage Cycling Programme
Led 47 participants through an 8-week guided cycling series along the greenway. Average group size was 12 cyclists per session, with participants ranging from 58 to 78 years old. We focused on steady pacing, local history stops at key railway heritage points, and building community connections among regular riders.
Confidence Building Workshop Series
Developed a 4-session confidence programme for returning cyclists who hadn't ridden in 10+ years. Covered bike maintenance, handling techniques, and route navigation. 23 participants completed the series, with 91% reporting increased confidence for independent riding afterwards.
Ballinasloe Retirement Community Project
Partnered with a local retirement community to design a custom 6-week cycling programme. Created three ability-level routes using different sections of the greenway, coordinated logistics for 35 residents, and provided route briefings with railway heritage context for each session.
Greenway Heritage Guide Development
Created detailed route breakdowns identifying 12 key heritage stops along the Athlone to Ballinasloe section, researching the railway's history and local significance. This guide now forms the backbone of our guided tour narratives and is used by independent riders wanting to explore the route's story.
